Australia Day Celebrations 2024

Rotary facilitated this year’s Australia Day activities at King’s Park. Besides the Rotary exhibits and food stall many other Community services were present.

We had dogs showing us their prowess in agility. SES displaying their equipment and giving us an example of the effectiveness of the Jaws of Life. CFA and Police also had displays. RDA came as did the Lions who provided scones and beverages, Scouts came and made lamingtons. This year there was a coffee van which was very well received and did a lot of trade. The Car Club had a display there too.

Entertainment was provided by the Seymour Concert Band.

Official ceremonies were hosted by Richard Pennington and the flag was raised by the RSL Community awards were presented to Police and citizens. Our Australia Day Ambassador Shelly Hamilton gave an address that was interesting and enlightening.

Towards the end of the morning we held our Races which produced some fierce competition. We congratulate the winners.

Our food stall did a roaring trade in bacon and egg sandwiches, burgers and sausages in bread. 

The Rotary Club of Seymour would like to thank its members for all the hard work that they did before, during and after the day. The day ran smoothly and no one was left to work alone. Thank you all.
